Dr Shihab Hussein

Dr Shihab Hussein BSc, BDS (London)

Dr Shihab S. Hussein graduated from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr Hussein is the Principal Dentist and Clinical lead at The Dental Centre.

Dr Hussein has a broad knowledge and experience in delivering varying dental treatment modalities. He has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers, he is skilled in the provision of tooth coloured fillings, porcelain crowns/ veneers and composite veneers/ Bonding. He is also a registered Invisalign full provider  (clear braces).He has experience in placing dental implants and restoring them.

He is skilled at treating a wide scope of temporo-mandibular joint dysfunctions (TMJD), which includes and extends beyond the mechanics of the jaw joint, with the aid of a spectrum of oral appliances (splints). He has also treated many patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) with the use of differing mandibular advancement devices (MAD).

Dr Hussein has a calm demeanour and is very patient and understanding when dealing with nervous patients. His gentle delivery of any plan and treatment immediately puts all his patients at ease. Dr Hussein is fluent in Dutch, having been raised in the Netherlands.

Dr Rahul Makwana

Rahul is a general dentist providing all types of clinical care to his patients.

He originally qualified with honours from the University of Sheffield and soon after with a post graduate certificate in restorative dentistry.

Rahul is often attending dental courses which tend to focus in the field of restorative dentistry and clear aligner orthodontics.

His care focuses on comprehensive treatments, aesthetic treatments and he also provides Invisalign.

Currently he is in the process of completing a diploma in clear aligner orthodontics.

Rahul has won a number of awards including the Pitt Ford prize in endodontics.

Dr Geeta Sundaram

Dr Geeta Sundaram graduated from Guys Dental Hospital in 2000.

She is a passionate, skilled and enthusiastic clinician. She has worked in the dental teaching hospital and community dental service treating children and  nervous patients and has a strong research background, completing her PhD at Guys. Geeta has also completed post-graduate studies in cosmetic and aesthetic restorative dentistry.

She is a gentle, caring and approachable member of the team and deeply committed to improving the dental health of all her patients. Her ethos has always been to treat every patient in the way she would want herself or her family to be treated and as such she maintains a strong rapport with her patients.

Outside of work Geeta enjoys reading,socialising with friends,dancing and spending time with her two wonderful children!

Dr Angelo Leone

Owen graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, where he received awards including the Henry Schein medal in Oral Surgery, the IDC Prize for Clinical Medical Sciences in Dentistry, and the Dr Hayes Medal for Oral Surgery, as well as being awarded the title of University Scholar. He worked in General Practice and in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in London, during which time he gained his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Owen undertook specialist training in Orthodontics in King’s College Hospital, London and was awarded Membership of Orthodontics with the Royal College of Surgeons of England. During this time, he also completed a Masters in Orthodontics with Distinction from King’s College London, carrying out research in the cost-effectiveness of orthodontics. Owen is currently a member of the orthodontic team at Eastman Dental Hospital, where he is involved in clinical treatment of complex orthodontic cases, teaching postgraduate students and academic research.

Owen offers a range of orthodontic treatment including removable, fixed, ceramic, lingual braces as well as clear aligner treatments, including Invisalign.

Dr Jill McLoughlin

Dr. Mcloughlin qualified from the London Hospital in 1990, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1996 and was accredited as a Specialist in Oral Surgery in 2000.  She has practiced in several major hospitals including the Royal London and Northampton. She has been the resident oral surgeon at University College London Dental Centre for more than 25 years as well as a practice in Harley Street.  She continues to work with NHS patients at The Dental Centre, Croydon. Dr. Mcloughlin is a highly experienced oral surgeon and has particular expertise in treating anxious patients.

All patients are seen and managed with utmost care. Dr. Mcloughlin offers various Oral surgery procedures such as:

  • Simple and complex dental extractions
  • Removal of Simple and Complex Wisdom teeth
  • Removal of retained roots
  • Orthodontic extractions
  • Exposure and bonding of Unerupted teeth for Orthodontics

Most of our oral surgery procedures are carried out gently and quickly using local anaesthetic.  For particularly complicated procedures or very anxious patients we offer sedation which helps to relax patients and to put them more at ease.

Outside of dentistry, Jill is an accredited mediator and trainer in Compassionate Communication, and is the Managing Partner of a training business specialising in workshops in communication.

Dr Bryar Koyi

Bryar graduated from Barts and The London Dental School with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2010. He worked as a private dentist in South Kensington, London, before starting his specialist training in Periodontics & Implant Dentistry at The London Dental Hospital in 2013. Bryar continued to work in several high-end private clinics in central London providing all aspects of periodontics and implant dentistry.

As part of his career, Bryar has been involved in teaching Periodontology at the postgraduate level at the Eastman Dental Institute (UCL) in London. He has also worked as a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Specialist Periodontist & Implantologist at the University of Western Australia. Bryar is passionate about enhancing smiles through implant dentistry in addition to treating gum disease. He is a perfectionist and pays close attention to detail when it comes to his work. Bryar uses the latest technology such as the digital workflow to provide predictable outcome for his patients. He is a big believer in evidence-based practice and regularly attends conferences and peer reviews to keep up to date.

Bryar has been recognised as a Specialist Periodontist in the United Kingdom and Australia. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons UK and a member of the International Team of Implantology (ITI), British Society of Periodontology and Australia and New Zealand Association of Periodontists.

Jemma Oliver

Jemma Oliver, (EDH) and Dental Therapist (EDT)

Jemma qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2006 and took the Dental Hygiene and Therapy course at the Royal London, qualifying in 2008.During her time studying she undertook a project focusing on Sjogrens Syndrome and its effects on oral health and produced an article which was published in the BSDHT journal Dental Health. Her project gained recognition by being awarded a prize sponsored by GSK.

She joined The Dental Centre in 2009 and during this time has attended a variety of courses covering CPD subjects and a periodontal course run by highly regarded Periodontist, Paul Baker and his hygienist team.

As well as scaling and polishing and providing more advanced gum treatment, Jemma can also do air polishing to remove heavier stain deposits and give patients a brighter smile.

What I like most about my job: seeing patients on a regular basis and motivating and educating about the importance of dental health. Also working with an efficient and friendly team.

Hobbies and interests: cooking and baking, films, shopping.

Opal Scott

Opal qualified in with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene at Eastman Dental Hospital in 2019.

Opal prides herself in ensuring her patients feel comfortable under her care. She particularly enjoys supporting nervous patients to improve their experience at the hygienist in order to improve their smile.

Opals passion for oral health and prevention of dental disease, means that she provides a unique service that is individually tailored.

Opal In her spare time is a busy mum, who enjoys running, travelling and socialising with friends.

Maria Kaszuba​

Maria is a qualified Dental Hygienist who joined The Dental Centre in 2017.

She has twenty years of experience working in the dental industry.

After training and working as a dental assistant alongside some of the most highly qualified dental surgeons and periodontal specialist in London, she went on to gain her dental hygienist qualification in 2015 from The Medical Collage Gdansk – Poland.

Maria is passionate about patient care and is a strong believer in prevention being better than a cure.

Evie Dawson

Ewelina “Evie” completed her Diploma in Dental hygiene and moved from Poland to London in 2004. She started her career in 2007 as a dental hygienist Being registered with the General Dental Council, she regularly updates herself with the latest knowledge regarding Oral Health. For our patients who may find visiting the practice daunting, Evie has a calming personality and she always maintains a thorough working approach. One of her main attributes is attention to details, precision, focus and Interpersonal skills.

In her personal time Evie enjoys traveling and scuba diving. She also taking boxing classes and love spending time at home with her cats.

Dovile is a passionate and determined Dental Hygienist. Her professional career in dentistry begins in 2016. Starting by training as dental nurse, she developed herself in the field working for a renowned endodontic and restorative dental clinic in central London. Her passion and enthusiasm for the profession finally brought her to pursue her ambition to become Dental Hygienist, a goal that she successfully achieved in 2019. Since qualifying, Dovile has undertaken several training programs to improve her skills including periodontal care, implant maintenance, and teeth whitening.

Today, given the experience she has been gaining with top-class structures and professionals, she has the ability and mission to provide with the highest quality in oral health treatments. Furthermore, she has practical knowledge in treating all age groups and special care for anxious patients.

Before dentistry, she was a professional athlete of Lithuania’s Long Jump National team, with a Master Degree in Sport Science and Psychology. As she says, dentistry, as competitive sports, fuels her with the inspiration to improve herself every day and give her patients the best possible care.

Mr Bristot is a Bachelor in Administration with specialized in Marketing and Advertising and have over seventeen years experience as manager in Britain and abroad.

Have been working in Dentistry since December/2015. Fernando is an Excellent communicator, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines, strong team player and organisational skills, attention to detail, outstanding customer service and exceptional discretion when working with high profile patients and dentists.

Fernando is current a dual practice manager and believes the knowledge and proficiencies built up during this time is a great asset for the role and the team.

Head Dental Nurse

Liliana joined the practice in September 2016 as a trainee dental nurse and has since qualified in 2018.

Liliana is Kind and caring by nature, she enjoys meeting patients and making them feel at ease.

Liliana has recently taken on the Role of Head Dental Nurse and is a great example for the Nursing Team to aspire forwards.

Outside of work, Liliana loves to cook and spend time with family.
